My journey in the hair industry began in 1971. I was employed at Famous Barr in South County. I worked there for a year and got drafted into the service. After 4 years of active duty in the Air Force - I then landed a job at Famous Barr downtown. I then became the Artistic Director and was fortunate to travel to New York and take classes on what was the current trend. I studied the “Wedge” haircut under Yusuke Suga – who cut Dorothy Hamill’s hair – that haircut became the rage! While at Famous Barr – Mademoiselle Magazine featured a makeover that I did creating the wedge haircut on a young woman that allowed me to cut her long hair. It made the cover of the magazine.
After several years at Famous Barr I decided to venture out on my own – owning several salons in the Central West End and Webster Groves.
I have studied at ~
• L’Oreal Institute in Paris, France
• Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, CA
• Tony and Guy Institute in Milan, Italy
I previously owned “Beauty Shop” in Webster Groves for 13 years.
My hobby is the dog show world – breeding Pembroke Welsh Corgis and Norwich Terriers. I enjoy exhibiting my dogs as well as being an AKC licensed judge which allows me to travel the world!
My mission is simply … When you look good ~ you feel good
I am extremely excited to join the team at The Boulevard …
Never too old to learn something new!
